Youth In Motion at Wapelhorst Aquatic Center

Youth In Motion participants were basking in the sun this past weekend at Wapelhorst aquatic center! Thanks again to Colonel Adams and Father Callahan who sponsored this event. While eating pizza, participants learned about the fruits of the spirit—love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control—and how we can apply these fruits in our lives. The fruit of the Spirit is not something we can force—it’s something the Holy Spirit produces when we stay connected to God.

We then discussed various ways to grow our fruit which is to stay connected to the Vine (John 15:5)– Daily prayer, Scripture, and worship keep us spiritually nourished along with walking in the spirit, and pruning what hinders growth.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22–23 (NIV).
